Description
Set in Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore, a city known for its pleasant climate, green surroundings and views of the Western Ghats, Rtam Yoga was established with a practice rooted in stillness and offers several ways to explore yoga. The studio teaches Hatha Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga alongside Kids Yoga, prenatal and postnatal programmes, and specialised workshops.Â
Hatha Yoga is an important part of the studio’s offerings, giving practitioners time to work with postures, breath and awareness. The slower, more deliberate nature of Hatha can be especially useful when learning alignment or developing a better understanding of how the body responds to a posture.Â
Therapeutic Yoga adds a more individualised dimension to the practice. The teaching team includes people with different areas of training and experience. Founder Mrinal Mehta Ji is a Yoga Acharya and RYT 300 teacher whose training is rooted in the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta tradition. He has also studied anatomy, different yoga styles and prenatal and postnatal yoga.Â
Rtam Yoga is blessed with experienced teachers like Arthi Singh and Kriti Tolia. Arthi Ji’s background includes Ashtanga, Hatha, and Vinyasa along with pranayama, anatomy, philosophy, kriyas, and meditation. Kirti Ji brings a background in physiotherapy and therapeutic yoga, including 18 years of clinical experience. Together, these backgrounds allow the studio to approach yoga from both traditional and therapeutic perspectives.Â
Rtam Yoga also offers Kids Yoga and programmes for those navigating the pre- and postnatal stages. Its workshops cover subjects such as Aerial Hammock, Pranayama and Mindfulness, Forearm Stand, chanting, meditation and sacred practices. The studio also conducts customised sessions for corporates, teams and groups.Â
The teaching style gives importance to careful instruction and individual attention. Smaller class settings can make it easier to receive corrections, ask questions and understand how to work progressively.Â
Whether the goal is to build a regular Hatha practice, explore therapeutic yoga, attend a specialised workshop or introduce children to yoga, Rtam offers several starting points.Â
