Welcome to Ananda Sangha – Where Yoga Meets Tranquility
Ananda Sangha, translated as the “fellowship of divine joy,” comprises individuals united in their pursuit of higher consciousness and dedication to serving others through the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. These teachings centered around “Self-realisation” as a direct inner experience of God, are non-sectarian, grounded in timeless universal truths, and offer practical solutions for contemporary challenges.
Their mission is to share the teachings, practices, and spiritual essence of their guru, Paramhansa Yogananda, fostering a spiritually supportive environment. Ananda Sangha Delhi provides various offerings, including preparation and initiation into Kriya Yoga Meditation, guided meditation, Sunday Satsang, Spiritual Sunday for children, parenting workshops, healing prayers, regular sessions on spiritual topics, and spiritual books and products.
Founded by Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda, Ananda Sangha originated with the establishment of Ananda Village in 1968 near Nevada City, California, USA. Swami Kriyananda initiated the global movement known as Ananda Sangha Worldwide. Ananda Village has since given rise to six other communities in the United States and one in Italy, with plans for an eighth community in India. Ananda members practice Kriya Yoga Meditation as taught by Yogananda, whom they recognise as their Guru. With the blessings of God and Gurus, Ananda Sangha is devoted to the spiritual upliftment of Earth.
Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings emphasise that meditation is considered the highest form of human activity, promoting natural and rewarding experiences. It brings balance, rest, and nurtures inner peace.
The course, designed by Paramhansa Yogananda, is accessible to individuals of all religious or spiritual backgrounds, aiming to teach meditation. Regardless of one’s familiarity with meditation, the lessons guide participants in establishing and cultivating a deep, consistent practice, awakening the innate peace, joy, and divine love within their true nature.
This course serves as the initial step on the Path of Kriya Yoga, forming part one out of four steps. Alternatively, it is also suitable as a standalone Learn to Meditate course.
