The Third Eye Chakra serves as an area of focus, intuition, and insight. In an environment full of emails, alerts from devices, and many different sources of stimulation, the Third Eye Chakra is one of the most overstimulated areas and one of the most overlooked. 

In today’s workplace environment there is a high value on speed of response and multi-tasking. We move from responding to emails to attending meetings to sending messages often without any breaks in the middle. Even though this can feel like being productive, it does not allow much space for thoughtful reflection or deep thinking. Over a long period of time, your mind changes from being reflective and intuitive to being reactive & fatigued.

When your Third Eye Chakra is well-balanced, you have mental clarity. You can concentrate on what you are doing with little or no distraction, you will make decisions confidently and you can trust your gut feelings. You maintain a sense of calm & conscious awareness throughout the day, even when very busy at work. 

When your third eye chakra is not functioning well, the opposite occurs as well. Your mind becomes unfocused and chaotic, it becomes difficult to concentrate on anything, and even easy decisions become hard to make. You may be rereading an email several times before replying; switching tabs on your computer without completing any of them; or reaching for your phone because you are used to doing so (or habitual in your use). 

Physically, this imbalance often shows up as headaches, eye strain, or a general sense of mental exhaustion. Emotionally, it can feel like brain fog where you’re busy all day but not truly clear or productive.

How It Shows Up in Daily Work Life 

A strained Third Eye Chakra can look like: 

  • Struggling to stay focused on one task at a time 
  • Constantly checking notifications or switching between apps 
  • Feeling mentally drained by midday 
  • Overthinking decisions or avoiding them altogether 
  • Relying only on external input instead of trusting your own judgment 

This isn’t about a lack of discipline. It’s a natural response to cognitive overload. When your brain is flooded with information, clarity gets pushed aside.

Simple Ways to Restore Balance

  • Making time for your mind is the most important thing you can do to support your Third Eye Chakra. 
  • Cut down on unnecessary digital input to begin. You don’t have to get rid of screens, but you can be more careful. Try working in short bursts, with notifications turned off for short periods of time. This will help your mind settle into one task at a time.  
  • Take breaks for your eyes and mind often. Taking a break from your screen, closing your eyes, or going outside for a few minutes can help you feel better.  
  • Mindfulness exercises can also be helpful. This doesn’t have to be hard. Just sitting quietly for a few minutes and watching your breath can stop your mind from racing.  
  • Another great tool is keeping a journal. Writing down your thoughts helps you clear your mind and often makes decisions you’ve been overthinking much clearer.  
  • You can also start to listen to your gut during the day. Before you make plans, stop and think about what feels right, not just what seems like it needs to be done right away.  
  • Lastly, set limits on how you use your digital devices. Limiting mindless scrolling, especially during breaks at work, can really help you focus and give you more energy. 

Your brain isn’t made to take in information without stopping. When you give it room, clarity comes back on its own.

And note that, when your Third Eye Chakra is balanced, it doesn’t mean you have to do less work. It means you work with more awareness, a sharper focus, and a stronger trust in your own thoughts.
