A smooth ride took us to the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram at the Neyyar Dam, located in the foothills of Kerala’s Western Ghats.
We were overwhelmed when seeing hundreds of people performing asanas everywhere – in halls, buildings, gardens, on the lakeside. We will examine this vibrant yoga place in the next two days…

If after visiting the Sivananda Ashram you are looking for a break at a lovely beach, I highly recommend either Kovalam Beach or Varkala beach – great German bakery and “Fusion Cafe”, nice fare as well. In all my time in India nothing was better than the papadam and food at the Sivananda Ashram! Good Luck!!!
